NATALIYA GOVORUKHINA 

CANTO

Nataliya Govorukhina is the rector of the Kharkiv I.P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts, a singer, teacher, musician and public figure, member of the board of the Kharkiv regional branch of the National All-Ukrainian Music Union (2010).

In 2001, she graduated from the Kharkiv State Institute of Arts named after I. P. Kotlyarevsky with a degree in academic singing. Over the years of teaching, she has trained more than 45 highly qualified opera and concert singers, including grand prize winners, laureates of international and national competitions and festivals, and scholarship holders of the President of Ukraine. The students of N. Govorukhina work fruitfully as soloists of the Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Mykola Lysenko, Kharkiv Philharmonic, Kharkiv Academic Musical Comedy Theater, Lviv National Opera, Dnipro Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, Dnipro House of Organ and Chamber Music, Calgary Opera (Canada), the Graz Opera House (Austria), The Opera of the Slovak National Theatre, teachers of higher education institutions of the People's Republic of China and Ukraine, teachers of music colleges and schools of aesthetic education.

She has published numerous scientific and methodological works used by teachers of higher educational institutions of arts and culture.


OLEH KOPELIUK - IHOR SEDIUK

PIANO DUO


The piano duo Ihor Sediuk and Oleh Kopeliuk – both are Assistant Professor of the Special Piano Department in Kharkiv I.P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts, PhD, prize-winners of International music competition in "Solo" and "Piano duo" categories. 

They received their Master's degree in Kharkiv I.P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts (KhNUA) in the year of 2012, studying in the class of the Honored Artist of Ukraine, Professor, PhD in the Art studies, president of Kharkiv I. P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts – Tetyana Vyerkina. Under her supervision, they were studying as graduate assistants in KhNUA till 2015. In 2018 both are graduated from the scientific postgraduate study of KhNUA.

The piano duo was formed in 2011. Their prize-winning achievements are marked by the following events: A. Karamanov International competition for pianists and piano duos (Moscow, Russia, 2012, 1 prize); International Youth music festival-competition "The night in Madrid" (Madrid, Spain, 2012, 1 prize); Maria Yudina International competition for pianists and piano duos (St. Petersburg, Russia, 2013, Grand-prize); F. Chopin International competition for pianists and piano duos (Rome, Italy, 2014, 1 prize); International F. Schubert competition for piano duos (Jesenik, Czech republic, 2017, 3 prize); International F. Schubert competition for piano duos (Ruse, Bulgaria, 2017, 3 prize); III International Suzana Szorenyi Piano Duo Competition (Bucharest, Romania, 2019, 3 prize); II International WPTA Finland Piano Duo Competition (Helsinki, Finland, 2020, 2 prize); International Online Music Competition Berlin “Rising Stars – Grand Prix” (Germany, 2020, 3 prize); 23rd International Music Competition “Pietro Argento” on line edition (Italy, 2020, 2 prize); VI International Music competition (Belgium, 2020, 1 prize); I International Music competition “Malopolska 2021” (Poland, 2021, 2 prize); ІІ online Sviatoslav Richter International Piano Competition (South Korea, 2021, 1 prize); II International Music competition Citta di Maruggio (Italy, 2022, 1 prize).

Among the recent victories of the piano duo are 2 awards at the prestigious Ilmari Hannikainen International Competition of Piano Chamber Ensembles (2023, Finland) and the Grand Prix of the 5th International Piano Competition (2023, Poland).

The piano duo constantly participates in various music festivals and master-classes in Ukraine and abroad. The duo gives concerts in Ukraine and overseas (Poland, Belgium, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Estonia, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Romania, Finland, Croatia).

Oftentimes the duo performed with a symphonic orchestra. Three times piano duo received the scholarship of the International master classes "Tel-Hai" under the patronage of Evgeny Kissin (Israel, 2017, 2018, 2022) and took master classes in the outstanding piano duo A. Genova and L. Dimitrov (Bulgaria and Germany), Oksana Yablonskaya (Israel/USA).

In their concert repertoire, works for four hands, for two pianos and concertos with orchestra from the 18th to the 21st centuries (duration is approximately 16 hours).


IRYNA SUKHLENKO

PIANO


Iryna Sukhlenko is the first vice-rector of the Kharkiv I.P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts, Full Professor, PhD.

She teaches a discipline in the specialty (piano), supervises master's and PhD theses, is the author of more than 25 scientific articles in domestic and foreign professional journals, a participant and organizer of international scientific conferences. 

Iryna Sukhlenko combines pedagogical, scientific, creative, and educational activities. She is a co-author and curator of such projects as «Children`s Philharmonic», «Musical Dynasties», and «Practical Musicology».


NATALIIA SIKORSKA

CRAVO - PIANO


Nataliia Sikorska is a Ukrainian pianist, harpsichordist, and performer on hammer-claviers.

She was awarded diplomas of international competitions as a pianist-concertmaster (1995) and chamber musician (1996, 2006), also she won the main prize (Primo Premio assoluto "Premia Wanda Landowska") at the international harpsichord competition named after W. Landowska (Wanda Landowska Harpsichord Competition 2017) in Ruvo di Puglia (Italy).

In 1996, she graduated from the piano faculty and received a diploma from the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music (class of Prof. Yuri Kot), in 2004 she completed an assistantship-internship in the harpsichord class at the early music department of the the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music (class of Svitlana Shabaltina).

She took part in numerous master classes, competitions, festivals, and concert events in Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Japan, and Italy.

From 1995 to 2001, she was involved in self-studied Baroque musical theories and practiced performing the clavier repertoire on the piano and harpsichord as well. Already in 2011 and 2014, Sikorska became the owner of concert instruments - a copy of J. Rückers' harpsichord and an authentic square piano of 1812 (E.Rochead, Edindurg). Since then she has been even more active in Ukraine in the field of historical performing practice. In parallel, since 1994, he worked as a concertmaster and piano teacher in various state educational institutions.

Sikorska initiated, was a permanent presenter and performer in the long-term project (2015-2017) of regular lectures-concerts of early music "Ecology of Sound" on the premises of the architectural monument of the turn of the 17th-18th century "The House of the Kyiv Viyt". 2017, the project activities moved to the suburban estate " Uvarovskyi Dim" in Vorzel. Since 2011, Sikorska has been the annual initiator, soloist, and participant of early music concert programs in the Mykola Lysenko Column Hall of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.

Since 2021, he has been working as an associate professor of the Department of Concertmastering at the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music, training future concertmasters and teaching theoretical courses on the history and methods of concertmaster art, as well as the author's course of lectures "Score editions in modern performing practice". Sikorska is the author of scientific articles in professional publications; in particular, the author of the article "Musical Rhetorique" in the Ukrainian Musical Encyclopedia, this issue also has a personal article dedicated to N. Sikorska.

DMYTRO TKACHENKO

VIOLIN


Dmytro Tkachenko started playing the violin and piano before the age of 6. He studied at the

Lysenko Music School in Kyiv, graduating to the Ukrainian National Music Academy of Music (former Kyiv Conservatoire) studying under Bogodar Kotorovych and Yaroslava Rivniak. In 1998 he was invited to London to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Yfrah Neaman. In 2002 Dmytro was made a Fellow of the Guildhall School and until 2008 was working with Krzysztof Smietana and David Takeno.

Dmytro Tkachenko was awarded the Guildhall School Concert Recital Diploma (Premier Prix) and was a prize-winner at several international violin competitions including the Carl Nielsen Competition (Odense, Denmark), the Lysenko Competition (Kyiv, Ukraine) and the Wronski Solo Violin Competition (Warsaw, Poland).

He has toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas. He performed at such venues as London’s Wigmore Hall, Barbican and Cadogan Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Toronto’s Roy Tomson Hall, Cologne Philharmonie, Tokyo Opera City, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Liszt Academy Hall in Budapest, Berlin Konzerthaus and Berlin Philharmonie Chamber Music Hall, Warsaw Philharmonic Hall, Megaron in Athens, Palau de Musica in Barcelona and Auditorio Nacional in Madrid.

His repertoire covers nearly every major violin concerto from Vivaldi Quattro Stagioni to Schoenberg and Ligeti, numerous sonatas and smaller works for violin and piano, programme cycles such as the complete 24 Paganini Caprices, complete Bach Sonatas and Partitas, complete Beethoven Sonatas, five Mozart violin concertos.

Apart from his busy concert career, Dmytro Tkachenko presently teaches at the Ukrainian National Music Academy of Music, gives masterclasses (the recent ones in Japan, Korea, Singapore, China, Turkey, Malta, Poland and Lithuania), goes on jury to several international competitions, is the co-founder and Artistic Director of the Benjamin Britten International Music Competitions in London and the Artistic Director of the Lysenko International Music Competition in Kyiv, Ukraine.


KATERYNA POLIANSKA

VIOLONCELLO


Kateryna Polyanska is a professor of cello and quartet at the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy

of Music and has a prestigious Merited Artist of Ukraine title. Kateryna is Laureate of the International Lysenko Competition (1997). She has a doctoral degree in music and philosophical sciences.

Dr. Polyanska has several scientific publications in journals included in the list of professional, scientific publications of Ukraine, participated in the certification of researchers as an official opponent. In 2018 she was appointed Deputy Dean of the Orchestra of the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music, where she taught cello, quartet, the study of the orchestral parts and music reading, lectures in The Cello Methods in Higher Education. From 2020 Prof. Kateryna Polyanska became the Head of the String Department at the Academy. 

Kateryna has extensive experience in performing and teaching. In different years she worked as a soloist and concertmaster in different orchestras, such as: the State Chamber Orchestra Kyiv Camerata, the State Chamber Ensemble Kyiv Soloists, the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Ukraine, the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, the State Symphony Orchestra. Kateryna is actively performing around the world as a soloist and a member of the Kyiv String Quartet. She is a founder of the Student’s Cello Ensemble of the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music.

Kateryna Polyanska is regularly invited to join various competitions’ juries, master classes, and other creative projects. She periodically takes part in art and music programs throughout Europe as a solo artist. Her numerous recordings regularly broadcasted over Ukrainian and world classical radio stations.


BOHDAN RUMIANTSEV

VIOLONCELLO


Bohdan Rumiantsev is a cellist and pianist.


He has been studying at the Mariupol Music College from 2012 till 2016. In 2016 he entered the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music where he was completing his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.


Bohdan Rumiantsev is a laureate of numerous all-Ukrainian and international competitions. He actively performs in the leading concert halls of Ukraine, such as National Philharmonic of Ukraine, Ukrainian House etc. 


He is co-organiser of the International Festival "Pearls of the Arts" (Kyiv, Ukraine) since 2018.


In September 2022, he was appointed head of the international relations office and international relations coordinator of the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music.

He has been a teacher in the String Department since 2024.


OLEG TONKOSHKURA

CANTO - TENOR

He worked as the Head of the Opera Troupe and Head of the Director's Department of the Opera Studio at the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music from 2007 to 2011.

In 2009 he graduated from the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music in the academic singing class of Professor Khrystych.

From 2009 to the present day he has been a soloist of the Opera Studio at the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music.

Since 2012, as part of the "Kyiv Music Mission" as a soloist-vocalist, choir administrator and choir artist, he has toured in such countries as: Canada and the USA (2012); Kyrgyzstan (2012); Canada (2014 and 2016); Georgia (2017); USA (2018), as well as numerous charity concert tours in the cities of Ukraine - Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Lutsk, Dnipro etc.

From 2013 to 2020, dean’s assistant at the Vocal and Conducting Faculty of the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music.

In 2014, he received the title of Laureate of the 1st Prize as a soloist of the group "Acapellix" at the first All-Ukrainian festival-competition "Acapella battle" (Kyiv).

Actively participates in world opera premieres and productions.

In 2015, he was invited to the National Opera House of Ukraine for the production of the Ukrainian opera "Natalka Poltavka" by Mykola Lysenko.

In the spring of 2019, he became the Laureate of the 1st Prize in the International Competition-Festival "Golden Stars of Spring" (Kyiv).

Since 2020, he has been appointed as an assistant of the vice-rector for academic work of the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music.

Since 2021, he has been appointed as a lecturer at the Vocal and Conducting Faculty at the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music.

In the repertoire there are about 30 opera leading and secondary parts. Such as:

- Bastien "Bastien and Bastien" by V.A. Mozart;
